EAPC Board meets in Stockholm
September 2005 • Stockholm, Sweden
It´s already a good tradition that the EAPC Board meets once a year
to discuss all upcoming matters of the Association. Since 2002 the Board
meets a year in advance at the site of the EAPC Conference to check local
conditions. The traditional dates for the Board Meeting have been changed
from January to September to enable a better organization of the annual
EAPC Conferences. So this year it was up to Pär Lönegård,
the Conference Chair of the EAPC Conference 2007 in Stockholm to host
the Board meeting. The agenda was very extensive and therefore the program
intense but the EAPC Board may draw a good balance. In the following please
find all important results of the meeting:
Vilnius Conference 2006 - “European Culture in Political
Campaigning”
The preparations for the upcoming conference in Vilnius are running smoothly.
During the next weeks Program Chair, Pär Lönegård and
Conference Chair, Rasa Alisauskiene, will present a first detailed program
draft as well as hotel and travel information. The conference will take
place from May 4 to 6, 2006 in the new Convention Centre of Vilnius.

in elections between the different European countries” – Comparison
of Europe with other continents

as well as new techniques and trends in European campaigns
10 Years of EAPC
The anniversary of the Association will be celebrated with some great
activities. Different projects as the development of a special logo for
the anniversary year or a solemn gala in the frame of the EAPC Conference
are already in organization process and will be presented in more detail
in the course of the year. The EAPC membership is also asked to present
further ideas or proposals.
Conference Site 2008
A first decision is taken on the conference site for 2008 – Liechtenstein
at the invitation of Board member Gerlinde Manz-Christ. Last week Sepp
Hartinger and Gerlinde Manz-Christ already met in Vaduz for a first location
check and found perfect conditions for an EAPC meeting.
Further activities
The next Board meeting will be held in the course of the IAPC meeting
in Berlin where the EAPC will also organize some activities for its membership.
In addition a special sales and information counter will be installed
in Berlin also selling the annual yearbook for political campaigning “Election

The next edition of Election Time including all important European campaigns
of 2005 will be presented to the public in January.
