Portugal calls for Presidential Elections

Portuguese President, Jorge Sampaio, calls for Presidential elections on January 22, 2006. In case a second round is neccesary, the dates are fixed for February 22, 2006.
So far the following candidates have been announced: Aníbal Cavaco Silva (PSD), Mário Soares (PS), Manuel Alegre (Independent), Jerónimo de Sousa (PCP) and Francisco Louçã (BE)
According to the last polls, the main question is if Mr. Cavaco Silva will obtain the absolute majority in the first round or if a second round will be necessary , since he is clear ahead by all polls.
